A low cost alternative to some of the expensive ukulele amplifiers.
The JBL GO 2 is a low cost amplifier (less than £20) and speaker with a 3.5mm stereo input, and with the addition of a suitable cable, will plug directly into your ukulele for useful amplification. The speaker is rechargeable and will run for around 5 hours and has a useful 3 watts output. Unlike some of the other amplifiers out there (which are actually more expensive), it has a decent frequency response and doesn't tend to distort.
Most ukuleles have their own tone controls on the pickups, so there's no need for one on the amplifier/speaker. There are volume controls and power on the speaker. It's also waterproof, so if it rains while you are busking, there's no great issue!

With Bluetooth, it can also be used to stream music from your phone - although you can't mix the input and Bluetooth together, admittedly.
I also use it as an amplifier for my Roland synthesiser that doesn't have a speaker, making it ideal for practice.

Nice. Simon can use it for his ukulele,
or via Bluetooth he can put proper music through it.
